Effect of Alkalization Duration and the Orientation of Fiber on Composites of Polyester Reinforced Fibre of Terap Tree (Artocarpus Elasticus) on Impact and Bending Strength

<p class="02abstracttext"><span lang="EN-US">Composite application has increased in recent years due to many advantages, e.g. In Kalimantan, there are types of flora, one which is the Terap tree (Artocarpus elasticus) a strong enough strength and usually used by Dayak people as clothing, hats, rigging. this research, we examine laminate composite skin fibers against bending impact price. making composites using variety alkali time, namely 60 minutes, 90 minutes 120 amount concentration 15% total volume alkaline liquid. Then also use variations fiber orientation 0o-900-00-900, 00-900-900-00, 900-00-00-900. The test results showed that highest value was obtained specimens with an immersion time 00-900-00-900 0.00294 joule / mm2 lowest found amounting 0.00164 joules mm2. While Bending 48.01 mph at 900-00-00-900 for 16.62 MPa.</span></p>
